In his book, Leadership From the Inside-Out, Kevin Cashman defines leadership as "authentically self-expressing to create value." He proposes three parts:
- Authenticity (truth, awareness, transparency, being human)
- Self-expression (speaking up, creating, courage, risk, purpose)
- Creating value (more than results; common interest vs. personal interest, enriching life vs. depleting life)
